The Planet and it's Continents
Andehae is the name of the orb that Morvia is set upon, just as Earth is the orb that Eurasia is set upon. The name is archaic Elvish, meaning Garden of the Gods. Andehae is an earth-sized planet dominated by two large continents, one located mainly in the southern hemisphere while the second more smaller continent straddles the equator in the eastern hemisphere. There are also other smaller landmasses scattered across the surface of Andehae. The continent in the southern hemisphere is known as Morvia. It is the primary purpose of this campaign to deal with this continent, particularly in the realms south of the Desert of Gareth and west of the Sea of Winds.
Andehae has two satellites named Soriel and Oriah. These two luminous bodies have different orbits and appear at times close together while at other times appear far apart. Occasionally the two become full and emblazon the night skies with a dazzling silver light. On nights such as this the world is alight and everything is visible as though it were daylight. These events occur about twice to three times a year.
In addition to the moons, there are five visible planets that wonder against the star-misted sky. They are early morning Sterelle, reddish Vers, hazy-blue Natsird, ringed Haldoran, and distant and dim Festilgur. All follow regular paths around the sun. The stars are distant and eternal and form themselves into patterns and constellations that each culture names according to it’s desires.
An Andehae year is 360 days of 24 hours each. An orbit of Soriel is 28 days while the orbital period of Oriah is 31 days. For further information on the calendar, refer to the Calendars and Time section.
Morvia is the cradle of Andehae. Morvia consists of the central section of the dominant continent on Andehae. It is bounded on the west by the barbaric nation of Battalia, to the south, the great glacier and the frozen south, to the east The Sea of Winds in which is contained the island nation of VeBrance and to the north, the endless expanse that is known as the Desert of Gareth.
